Carrier Aircon Repairs, Servicing and Installs
ARS does Carrier aircon repairs for homes, offices and industrial sites throughout Gauteng, working on site with the unit where it's installed. We also service Carrier equipment and fit new systems.

The name behind modern air conditioning
The Carrier brand traces back to Willis Carrier, who in 1902 designed what Carrier describes as the first modern air conditioning system. It was built for the Sackett & Wilhelms printing plant in Brooklyn, New York, where humidity was making paper swell and shrink so that colour printing came out misaligned. Controlling moisture in the air, not just temperature, was the whole point.
Carrier Engineering Corporation followed in 1915, and the name has been part of the industry ever since. Today Carrier equipment ranges from home splits to large commercial plant.
ARS is not a Carrier dealer, agent or appointed service centre. We are an independent air conditioning company that repairs, services and installs Carrier units along with all other makes.
Carrier aircon repairs from bedroom splits to rooftops
The type of unit decides how we approach the job, from access and safety to how much downtime a business can live with.
Homes
Wall-mounted splits, fixed-speed and inverter, including units used for heating in winter. See our residential air conditioning page.
Offices and retail
Cassettes, ducted units and multiple splits, often maintained to a schedule. More on our commercial work.

Larger packaged and rooftop units where cooling keeps people and processes going. Details on our industrial air conditioning page.
Faults, warranty and upkeep on Carrier units
What usually goes wrong
Carrier units tend to fail for the same reasons as any other brand: dust-choked filters and coils, blocked condensate drains, refrigerant leaks at joints or corroded coils, tired fan motors and capacitors, and electronics damaged by lightning or by surges when power returns after an outage.
On commercial plant, add belts, contactors and controls to the list, plus condenser coils clogged by airborne dust and debris on rooftops.
How we diagnose
Our Carrier aircon repairs start with testing, not guessing. If the unit or its controller displays a fault, we read it and then test the circuit or component it relates to. Codes narrow the search; they are not a parts list. Low refrigerant is treated as a leak to find, not a bottle to empty in. If your Carrier has stopped or is struggling, book a repair visit or call 0861 995 092.
In-warranty units
For a Carrier that is still under the manufacturer's warranty, read the terms before booking anyone. Repairs may need to go through the brand's appointed service agent. Once warranty no longer applies, or for servicing your terms permit, we can help.
Keeping it running
Homeowners should wash filters every few weeks in summer and keep the outdoor unit clear. Businesses get more from a planned schedule: our maintenance plans cover coil and drain cleaning, electrical checks and pressure readings, and our commercial maintenance checklist shows what a thorough visit includes.
Many sites run more than one brand. We also work on Daikin systems, so mixed installations can be handled together.
Carrier owners often ask
Emergency call-outs are available 24/7, including weekends and public holidays. Routine repairs and services are booked at a time that suits you.
Yes. We service and repair packaged and rooftop units on commercial and industrial buildings, and we plan access and safety with the site before work starts.
Often it can, but R22 is being phased out in South Africa and is increasingly scarce. We will tell you honestly whether repairing it is sensible or whether replacement is the better long-term option.
