Daikin was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1924 and is one of the best-known names in air conditioning and heat pumps. It is particularly associated with inverter technology and with VRV (variable refrigerant volume) systems, which Daikin introduced in Japan in 1982. A VRV setup runs many indoor units off one outdoor system and adjusts how much refrigerant each one gets.

Why Daikin aircon repairs are usually needed

• Dirty filters and coils. A well-built unit still loses cooling when its coil is coated in dust.
• Drain problems. Cassettes and ducted units rely on drain pumps or long drain runs, and a blockage can mark a ceiling.
• Electronic faults. Inverter boards and sensors are sensitive to lightning, power cuts and surges when the supply comes back.
• Refrigerant leaks. If the gas is low, it has leaked out. We locate the leak before anything is topped up.
• Worn fan motors. Noise, vibration or weak airflow from either unit often comes down to the fan.

Daikin displays and remotes can show a fault code when something trips. We read that on site and then test the circuit or part involved, because a code shows where to look rather than what to replace. Warranty and Daikin units

Daikin units that are still under the manufacturer's warranty may need in-warranty repairs done through Daikin's appointed service agent. Please check your warranty terms before booking anyone else. When the warranty no longer applies, or for servicing that your terms allow an outside company to do, Daikin aircon repairs and maintenance are something we can help with.

Getting long life out of a Daikin

Owners usually expect a Daikin to run for many years, and regular servicing is how that happens. Wash the filters every few weeks in summer, keep the outdoor unit clear, and have a technician clean the coils, flush the drains and check pressures and electrics at least once a year.
