Samsung Aircon Repairs in Gauteng
ARS handles Samsung aircon repairs, servicing and installation for homes and businesses across Gauteng. We work on Samsung wall splits, WindFree models and inverter units on site, and we start every repair by finding out why the unit stopped, not by guessing at parts.
Samsung Electronics is a South Korean company headquartered in Suwon, and its split units are a familiar sight on Gauteng walls. The range is best known for WindFree cooling: once a room reaches the set temperature, the unit stops blowing a cold stream at you and lets air out gently through thousands of tiny holes in the front panel.
ARS is an independent air conditioning company. We are not a Samsung dealer or appointed agent; we simply repair, service and install Samsung units alongside every other make we work on.
Samsung units we repair, service and install
- Wall-mounted splits. Older fixed-speed models and current inverter splits in bedrooms, lounges and small offices.
- WindFree models. Units with the perforated front panel and the gentle "still air" mode.
- Ceiling cassettes and ducted units. Typical in offices, shops and larger open-plan homes.
- Heat-pump (reverse-cycle) operation. Samsung splits that warm the house in winter but have stopped heating properly.
New installs follow the same approach as our general aircon installation service: the right size for the room, a sensible spot for both units and a neat pipe run.
Samsung aircon repairs: the faults we see most
Weak cooling from clogged filters and coils
Dust and fluff build up on the filters and the indoor coil, so less air moves across the cold surface. The room never quite gets cool, and the unit runs longer to make up for it. This is the most common reason a Samsung head "isn't cold anymore".
Water dripping from the indoor unit
A blocked drain line or a dirty drip tray lets condensation overflow down the wall. Our guide on why aircons leak water explains the usual causes.
Control board and sensor faults
Highveld summer thunderstorms, power cuts and the surge when supply returns all take a toll on electronics. A damaged PCB (the unit's control board) or a failed temperature sensor can stop the unit starting, make it cut out, or leave the display flashing.
Low refrigerant from a leak
Refrigerant does not get used up. If pressures are low, gas has escaped somewhere, often at a flare joint or a damaged pipe. We find and fix the leak before any regassing, otherwise you pay to refill a system that will simply leak again.
Noisy or failed fan motors
Rattling, humming without airflow, or an outdoor fan that won't spin usually points to a fan motor, its capacitor or debris in the blades.
Good Samsung aircon repairs start with a proper diagnosis. When a unit shows a code on its display or flashes its lights, we read it on site and test the parts it points to before recommending anything. If yours is acting up, book a repair visit or call 0861 995 092. Full details of how we approach faults are on our aircon repairs page.

If your Samsung is still under warranty
Check the warranty terms on your paperwork before booking anyone. Repairs on a unit that is still covered may need to go through Samsung's appointed service agent, and outside work could affect a claim. Once warranty is no longer a factor, we can take on Samsung aircon repairs, and we can handle routine servicing wherever your terms allow it.
Keeping a WindFree or inverter Samsung in good shape
- Rinse the filters often in summer. Every few weeks during heavy use. Wash in plain water and let them dry in the shade before refitting.
- Use WindFree for holding, not pulling down. The mode is designed to maintain a temperature quietly. In a hot room, cool it down in normal mode first.
- Keep the outdoor unit breathing. Clear leaves, plants and stored items away so the condenser can get rid of heat.
- Protect the electronics. Switch off before a scheduled outage, wait a few minutes after power returns, and consider surge protection.
- Book a proper service yearly. Ideally before summer. Offices and dusty sites usually need it more often.
A professional aircon service goes further than filters: coil cleaning, drain flushing, electrical checks and pressure readings. Running a mix of makes? We also look after LG splits and Daikin systems.
Yes. WindFree is meant to hold the temperature without a noticeable draught, so the airflow feels very soft. If the room stays warm in normal cooling mode as well, the unit needs a closer look.
Often, yes. We check the supply, fuses, control board and sensors on site to find out what failed. Sometimes it is a simple reset or a blown fuse; sometimes a board needs replacing.
No. ARS works on all makes and models, so a single visit can cover a Samsung in the bedroom and a different brand in the lounge.
Check your warranty terms first, because in-warranty repairs may need Samsung's appointed service agent. If the warranty has ended or does not apply to the problem, you are welcome to book us.
