LG Aircon Repairs and Servicing
From a DUAL Inverter split that has stopped cooling to an ARTCOOL head dripping onto the lounge floor, ARS takes care of LG aircon repairs at your home or business across Gauteng. We also service LG units and install new ones.

LG air conditioners in Gauteng homes
LG Electronics is a South Korean manufacturer based in Seoul. Many of its split units run on what LG calls its DUAL Inverter compressor, and the ARTCOOL range stands out for its dark, mirror-style front panel that suits modern living spaces.
We repair, service and install LG wall splits (fixed-speed and inverter), ARTCOOL models, ceiling cassettes, ducted units and LG splits used for heating in winter. ARS is independent and not an LG agent or dealer, so think of us as the people you call once warranty is no longer part of the picture.
Because we work on every make, we can also look after the Samsung unit in the next room on the same visit.
What we usually find on LG aircon repairs
Most callouts trace back to a handful of causes. None of them are unique to LG; they are what happens to any split that works hard through a Highveld summer.
Choked filters and coils
Dust on the filters and indoor coil cuts airflow, so cooling drops off and the compressor runs longer than it should.
Blocked drainage
Slime and dirt in the drip tray or drain pipe make condensation back up and run out of the bottom of the head.
Storm and outage damage
Lightning, power cuts and the spike when supply returns can damage the control board, sensors or the inverter electronics in the outdoor unit.
Refrigerant leaks
Low gas always means a leak. Flare joints, kinked pipes and corroded coils are the usual places we find it.
Fan motor trouble
A fan that hums but won't turn, or grinds as it spins, usually needs a motor, bearing or capacitor checked.
No heating in winter
When a split cools but won't heat, we check the reversing valve, sensors and outdoor coil, which can ice up on frosty mornings.
Our LG aircon repairs begin with a diagnosis. A fault code or flashing light on the display is only a starting point: we read it, test the components it relates to, and only then explain what needs fixing and why. Repairs are done on site, so the unit stays on your wall.
The work behind this is the same as our general aircon repair service. If a leak is behind poor cooling, it gets found and sealed before any regas goes in. Our article on why an aircon stops cooling covers the usual suspects if you want to rule out the simple things first.
Warranty comes first on newer LG units
Once the warranty has run out, or the fault isn't something it covers, LG aircon repairs are part of our everyday work and we're glad to take a look.
Servicing tips for LG inverter splits
Inverter units vary their compressor speed rather than switching on and off, which makes them efficient and quiet. They are also more dependent on clean coils and stable electronics than older fixed-speed units.
| Task | Who does it | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Wash the indoor filters | You | Every few weeks in summer, less in mild months |
| Clear around the outdoor unit | You | Whenever leaves or garden growth build up |
| Coil and drain clean, electrical and pressure checks | Technician | At least yearly; more often for offices and dusty sites |
| Check heating before winter | You, then a technician if it struggles | Late autumn |
A full aircon service catches small problems, like a slow drain or a loose connection, before they turn into a breakdown in January. If you have several units, a maintenance plan keeps them on a regular schedule.
